Mariana Yevsyukova Represents WFUWO at the Third International Assembly “Ukrainian Women in the World: New Challenges – New Leadership”
On 20 August, Mariana Yevsyukova, Representative of the World Federation of Ukrainian Women’s Organizations (WFUWO) to the United Nations and Co-founder and Coordinator of the Ukrainian Women’s Initiative in the United Arab Emirates, participated in the Third International Assembly “Ukrainian Women in the World: New Challenges – New Leadership.”
The Assembly brought together Ukrainian women leaders, civil society representatives, and activists from around the world to exchange experiences, strengthen international cooperation, and explore the role of women’s leadership in addressing contemporary challenges facing Ukraine and Ukrainian communities abroad.
Mariana Yevsyukova contributed as a speaker to the panel discussion “The Power of Action: Ukrainian Women in Activism, Volunteering and Communication,” moderated by Oksana Horda, Senior Research Fellow at the International Institute of Education, Culture and Diaspora Relations (MIOK) of Lviv Polytechnic National University.
The discussion highlighted the important contributions of Ukrainian women to civil society, volunteer initiatives, community mobilization, and international communication. Participants shared their experiences in leading civic initiatives and supporting Ukraine through grassroots engagement and cross-border cooperation.
Mariana Yevsyukova’s participation brought together two important dimensions of Ukrainian women’s international engagement: representation within the United Nations system through WFUWO and community-based leadership through the Ukrainian Women’s Initiative in the UAE.
Her involvement in the Assembly reflected WFUWO’s commitment to strengthening the visibility and participation of Ukrainian women in international dialogue, fostering connections among Ukrainian women’s organizations worldwide, and supporting their role as active contributors to civil society and global advocacy.
The Assembly provided a valuable platform for exchanging perspectives on how Ukrainian women, both in Ukraine and across the diaspora, continue to demonstrate leadership, resilience, and solidarity in response to the challenges facing their country.
Through the participation of representatives such as Mariana Yevsyukova, WFUWO continues to contribute to international conversations on women’s leadership, civic engagement, and the importance of amplifying Ukrainian women’s voices on the global stage.
